A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL
Prosperity Comprehensive School was founded by late Chief J.O Nwankwo. The school started as a stenographic and commercial school at number 25 Arch Bishop Heerey street, Odoakpu, onitsha in 1969. Royal society of Arts (RSA) certificates were issued at the end of the five years programme. RSA was later replaced by National Business Technical Examination Board (NABTEB) in 1995. As the needs of the society were fastly changing, the commerical subjects were complemented with science subjects and in the year 2000, the school was approved for West African Examination Council (WAEC) and National Examination Council (NECO) Senior school Certificate Examinations under the principalism of Mr. Nzuko Samuel as the first principal and Mr. Chukwu Francis as the first vice principal of the new school, Prosperity Secondary school. Mrs. Ikejiaku Ifeoma succeeded Mr Samuel Nzuko in 2010 and played a vital role in maintaining the standard of education in this noble school till 2019. She was succeded by Mrs Anyaneche Uche since 2019 till date. The school was also approved to run Nursery and primary sections and thus the name was changed from prosperity secondary school to Prosperity Nursery, Primary and Secondary Schools and it's currently situated at no. 8 umuawulu street Nkpor Agu. Prosperity Learners Academy, is currently owned and Co-owned by Mrs V.N Nwankwo (College Umuagbala) and Nwankwo Frank Chiekezie respectively. Our Philosophy
The school is non-partisan, non-denominational and non-discriminatory. The only criteria for admission are academic merit and the willingness to do one’s best to achieve excellence. We believe that all African children in schools are members of a privileged minority, regardless of social and economic standing, and we owe them a duty to provide the highest possible standard of education. The school’s philosophy embraces internationalism in its widest sense. Education is a global phenomenon; as such, we seek excellence wherever it is to be found and use it to raise our standards.
